Please take a moment to look at the Call for Submissions for the special 2012 Economics issue. We hope to have as many quality articles for the special issue as we do for the current one.

In the Research section, articles include an exploration of designing and implementing a model of cultural-responsiveness within a social studies teacher education program and an examination of the number of male and female characters and the presence, or absence of, gender stereotypes relative to characters’ personalities, occupations, and behaviors.

The Practice section includes practical applications of effective practices. The articles include topics such as iterative approach to historical inquiry, student-centered teaching methods for novice teachers, content area literacy, and civic service learning activities.

The Features section of the journal includes Notable Tradebooks lesson plans and Social Justice and Technology Integration articles. Please note that Dr. Judy Butler has notes for the lessons. The articles are related to social activist women and student-centered cooperative instructional model technology integration.
