This extensive lesson involves grades pre-K-3 students in exploring how the concept of peace is demonstrated in their daily lives. Students use physical modeling, drawings, and digital photos to capture their own and others’ expressions of peaceful behaviors. They use A Little Peace as a resource and springboard for the development of the characteristics of peace. The book includes photos of children and some adults from many nations. Students locate the nation in which the photo was taken, consider simi-larities and differences found in photos, and apply the concept to their daily lives. The lesson originates in social studies but incorporates interdis-ciplinary elements.
